Some of the topics to be covered include adherence with asthma therapy, growth disorders, developmental delay, hepatitis C update, sleep-related disorders, sports medicine and an immunization update, among others. At workshops, participants will be able to focus on specific clinical areas, including cardiac evaluation, sports medicine, nutrition, motivational interviewing, special needs children, child abuse, dermatology, practical radiology and medication use safety. These sessions will provide ample opportunities for registrants to interact with the faculty. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This program is intended for pediatricians, family practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses and physician assistants involved in providing primary care for infants, children and adolescents. Objectives After attending this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to: v Incorporate new immunization recommendations into clinical practice v Manage common sports injuries in children and adolescents v Analyze a variety of techniques to improve adherence with asthma treatment v Use motivational interviewing in addressing teenage psychosocial problems v Choose appropriate radiology imaging studies for common clinical conditions. ACCREDITATION STATEMENT This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Maryland Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics.
