This activity will provide unique opportunities to learn, share, and investigate new ways of assessing and managing pediatric patients with complex nutritional needs. This year?s activity will focus on: - Challenges in pediatric obesity and bariatrics - Identifying and managing food allergy in children - Food as medicine - Evaluating and managing eating behaviors in children - The new guidelines for Vitamin D - Case studies in pediatric nutrition Who Should Attend This activity is intended for physicians, dietitians, nurses and pharmacists who are interested in improving outcomes by maximizing nutrition care in their clinical practice. Objectives After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to: - Identify and manage food allergy in children. - Describe the new guidelines for vitamin D intake in children. - Describe the medical applications of functional foods. - Identify altered eating behaviors in children. - Discuss the use of bariatric surgery in pediatric patients.
