Course Description

The Institute for Excellence in Education (IEE) and the Office of the Vice Dean for Education of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health are happy to announce the IEE Education Conference and Celebration. The conference is intended to bring together educators from across the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health to share ideas, educational research, innovations, and instructional methodologies; to learn from each other and guests, promote a community of educators, and celebrate our great teachers and educators.

OBJECTIVES:

After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
  • List and describe the six methods of getting a new curriculum published.
  • Describe the process required to determine how best to use mentoring as a method of personal faculty development.
  • Use a personal approach to research and scholarship in the institution through participation in a panel discussion on how to execute educational scholarship and research.
  • Recognize and apply Adult Learning Theory centered approaches to teaching in te settings where teaching is most common (i.e. ambulatory vs. hospital).
