The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 48.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

DESCRIPTION

This intensive review course is designed to provide the internist an updated broad review of basic topics in internal medicine and its subspecialties. The activity will also aid in preparation for the 2009 American Board of Internal Medicine certification and re-certification examinations.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is intended for internists, family and general practitioners, sub-specialists, physician assistants and nurse practitioners desiring a broad review of Internal Medicine.

OBJECTIVES

After viewing this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
• Recognize clinical manifestations of diseases in internal medicine
• Demonstrate an understanding of the diagnosis and management of medical scenarios that appear on the ABIM examination and in clinical practice

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/12th Annual Internal Medicine Board Review may include presentations on drugs or devices, or use of drugs or devices, that have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or have been approved by the FDA for specific uses only. The FDA has stated that it is the responsibility of the physician to determine the FDA clearance status of each drug or device he or she wishes to use in clinical practice.
