ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Maryland Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics. The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Description:
The major focus of this conference will be on commonly encountered problems about which current controversies exist and on aspects which have recently changed patient management.
Some of the topics to be covered include adherence with asthma therapy, growth disorders, developmental delay, hepatitis C update, sleep-related disorders, sports medicine and an immunization update, among others. At workshops, participants will be able to focus on specific clinical areas, including cardiac evaluation, sports medicine, nutrition, motivational interviewing, special needs children, child abuse, dermatology, practical radiology and medication use safety. These sessions will provide ample opportunities for registrants to interact with the faculty.

Objectives:
After attending this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:
• Incorporate new immunization recommendations into clinical practice
• Manage common sports injuries in children and adolescents
• Analyze a variety of techniques to improve adherence with asthma treatment
• Use motivational interviewing in addressing teenage psychosocial problems
• Choose appropriate radiology imaging studies for common clinical conditions.
