Program Description

There is a need in the community for up-to-date education in GI pathology as the number of endoscopic procedures has increased since Medicare began to cover colonoscopy. This CME activity on DVD is based on lectures presented at the Johns Hopkins Eighth Annual Conference on Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology, held November 8-9, 2008. This DVD series is intended as a practical overview for pathologtists who encounter gastrointestinal specimens in daily practice. Interpretation of mucosal biopsies of the upper GI tract are addressed, as well as recent advances in pancreatic pathology. After completing the lectures, participants will come away with a better understanding of interpretation of mucosal biopsies, liver biopsies, pancreatic/biliary disorders and the application of modern techniques to gastrointestinal disorders.
