Description:
The 27th Annual Medical and Surgical Gastroenterology: A Multidisciplinary Approach is necessary to illustrate and analyze recent major advances in the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, functional bowel disease, colorectal cancer, pancreaticobiliary diseases and liver disease. Each of these topics represents an area of active research which is rapidly changing. This seminar will focus on recent major advances in these areas. Faculty members, distinguished in the fields of surgery, gastroenterology, medicine, hepatology and transplantation, will utilize a series of lectures and symposia to present a variety of problematic topics. Interactive case-management discussions will occur based upon the didactic material presented simulating interaction between faculty and participants.

Objectives:
After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
• Identify and utilize the latest techniques for the management of esophageal disorders
• Review updates and changing practice paradigms in colorectal cancer screening and management
• Identify and utilize the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for the screening and management of pancreatic neoplasia
• Analyze and practice the care of the patient with functional bowel disease.
