Description:
The Ninth Annual Gastroenterology and Hepatology: Viva la Vida will provide, through formal lectures followed by questions and answers, a discussion of various disorders, with an emphasis on recent developments. This year will feature a symposium on gastrointestinal motility disorders as well as diagnosing and treating early gastrointestinal cancers. A symposium on managing pain syndromes in patients with digestive disorders will be presented. Registrants will be able to learn of new imaging and therapeutics for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and become updated in management of gastrointestinal bleeding. A session devoted to optimizing clinical practice will be highlighted.

Objectives:
After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
• Identify the best approach to patients with abnormal liver function tests
• Recognize when to refer your patients with abdominal pain to surgery
• Describe new advances in endoscopic ultrasound
• Evaluate the early diagnosis and treatment of Hepatocellular cancer
